Still Sick

So I'm still not feeling great.. I'm at about 85% so I'm feeling better and better as the days go by but still not 100%. There is so much to do I just wish I could motivate myself to do some of it.. that and not feel sick for sitting up for too long. I did manage to clean up the house a bit. Jenni is coming over tomorrow to record our next podcast and I want the house to look halfway decent. I haven't felt so hot the past week or so.. hope it passes soon... I'm tried of being sick.

Personal Website

You may or may not know but I have a personal website. I've had it for over 10 years. It was on yahoo geocities until that went under and I had to move it. I purchased my own url Geekyfanboy.com and have slowly started rebuilding my site. I have most of the links working but there are still a few like "our house", "vacations", and The Guild that need to be worked on. I say it's a work in progress as it continues to change. It kind of like an out of sight out of mind type of thing. I look forward to finishing it and then only having to update it once in a while. If you want to get to know me a little better then check it out. http://geekyfanboy.com

I hate being sick

Well I'm still a bit sick.. feeling about 80% but I did manage to get outside for a half hour and take down some more weeds. I feel like we turn out back and new weeds sprout up moments after we cut them down. We are looking into getter a more heavy duty brush mower type thing. They cost a few thousands but it's going to be like this every year it will be well worth the money.

Glee

Yeah I'm still sick and today I watched the last five episodes of Glee. This isn't a must see show for me and what I mean by that is I will let a few (of in this case 5) episodes build up before watching them. This batch of five had some really great episodes including guest star Olivia Newton John, who I love and it was so great to see her back on TV and re-doing her "Physical" video. Another cool episode was one directed by Joss Weadon and guest starred Neil Patrick Harris which was a lot of fun but my favorite parts of the show is the relationship of Kurt (the gay character) and his father. I think it's a very positive look at a gay youth and his family dealing with it. The music is great but what I love most about this show are the characters.

V

Been sick the past few days and one good thing about that it makes me rest and when I rest I watch TV so I was able to catch up on some of my DVR'd shows. Today I watched the final 2 episodes of V. Now if you've read my blog you know I'm a huge fan of the original and had high hopes for the remake. It started off strong but lost it's way for a few episode but I have to say the final five or so episodes have been AWESOME and that goes for the finale as well. The story is ramping up and so many things are happening. I'm so glad this series was picked up for a second season as they left some great cliffhangers. My favorite character on V is of course Anna (Morena Baccarin from Firefly) She plays such a cold hearted bitch, some of the stuff she does, especially to her own daughter just makes you cringe. I won't put in any spoilers in this blog but man this series had become one of my favorite. Can't wait for the DVD and of course Season Two.

Insomnia

I don't get insomnia very often but man when I get it, I get it bad. It's currently 2:18am I'm exhausted as I had gotten up super early 6am for The Guild shoot yesterday. I don't know what it is my body is very restless as I lay in bed tossing and turning finally getting up around 1am and start pacing the bedroom hoping to get tired. That's didn't work so I'm now on the computer catching up on my blog. On top of the insomnia I think I'm getting sick :(

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Fourteen

Today we were on location once again. Actually there were two locations but I did not go to the second location. But man oh man the stuff they shoot today was some of the funniest stuff I had seen all season. I did manage to get a few more interviews, so that was good. But today is the "last" day of shooting at least for a few weeks... then we will all get back together once again for our "final" shoot day.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Thirteen

Today was a fun day on the set of the Guild season four. I didn't get many interviews done as I wanted but I did get some key ones done so it felt like a productive day for me. It was a very long day on set and we also wrapped out of the location, which means we removed everything and this always takes longer then a "regular" day. We also got our "cast & crew" t-shirts... of course I would love to show them to you but I can't as the image on the front plays a part in season four... so for now they have to stay under wrap.

Only a few more days left for this season and though I will be sad that it will be over I'll be happy as well as I have a ton of audio that I have to sift through and organize for the KOTG "Special Season Four" podcasts.

Lost

Just finished watching the series finale of Lost.. and my first thoughts are that it was good.

I first saw the pilot episode at comic con months before it premiered and I LOVED it. I watched every single episode and though there were some ups and downs, overall I loved every minute of it. I knew whatever ending they did they wouldn't be able to answer all the questions they had posed over the six seasons. Toward the end of Season 6 they answered a few long standing questions but then asked many more new ones.

"The End" (title of the final episode) was very emotional and moving, every time someone would have a flashback to the island and remember events and loved ones made me cry. It was great to see old cast members make a return and overall I was satisfied on how it ultimately ended. But wow, they left way too many unanswered questions and the final scene is still a bit confusing. But I'm sure as the days go by and I read/listen to other people's interpretation I'll have a better understanding of what actually happened.

You made ask how could I like the finale when I didn't understand some of it... well that's LOST!

Yard Work

It's great having 2 1/2 acres of land but man when you have to weed that land it's a nightmare. Both Harry and I have been working on the weeds for the past month.. we go out a few hours a day. Well Harry does it more as he is home more then me. But it's tough work and it seems by the time to finish one section and move on to the next the section you just did has new weeds growing in it. The issue with us is we can' t use any kind of weed control because of the water table (which is our drinking water). So we have to hand pull thousands and thousands of weeds. Today we went to Home Depot and pick up some tools to help us in this battle. We put a good fight but I feel like we are losing. May have to resort to some outside help (a gardener). But for now will put on a good fight.

Editing KOTG Podcast

Today since I wasn't on set of The Guild I was able to work on the latest Knights of the Guild podcast #16 part 2. I want to post it in less then a week so I figured it would be a good idea to actually start editing it. I had done the bulk of editing a few weeks ago but still had to assemble the pieces and then add sfx. I manage to get it all done fairly quick and now I'm just converting the files and then it will be ready for upload.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Twelve

Today I was asked not to come to set as they are shooting in very confined spaces and using a skeleton crew. This is the second time that I was not allowed on set and I have to say that I'm bummed as I always enjoy being on set and as the official podcaster it's fun to watch all the scenes so I can talk about them on the podcast... but with that said I understand production and the craziness that happens with a bunch of people on set and unfortunately I'm probably one of the more expendable crew members. So no Guild for me today but this does free up a day to do stuff around the house.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Eleven

Back on the Guild set for Day 11 of a 15 day shoot. I have to say this was one of the funnest days so far. The scene they were shooting is one of the funniest and coolest scenes of the season. I got a bunch of cast and crew interviews done, it was a very productive day.

Visting Family

Today Harry and I went down to visit my family (Dad, Brother, Sister-in-law and Nephew). It's been a few weeks and I like to see these guys as much as we can. When we got there my mom was there visiting as well so it was great to spend some time with her as well. We visited with everyone for a hour or so and then took dad out to lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant Hong Kong's. After that we had planned to take Dad to a movie but he had plans to play poker later that day so instead we headed back to their house and visited with family for a few more hours before heading home.

It's always great seeing my family and now that I'm an Uncle I love seeing Kenobi as much as I can as he is growing up so fast. He'll be 1 years old next month, I can't believe how times flies.

Star Wars Love

Today marks the 30 anniversary of Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back. This is my favorite of the first trilogy and one of my all time favorite movies. I was 9 about to turn 10 when I first saw this. My first viewing of this movie is one of the most vivid childhood memories that I have. I remember who I was with, where I was when I saw it and how it made me feel.

The original Star Wars shaped my childhood, it made me the lover of Science Fiction and Fantasy. I wouldn't be the GEEK I am today if it wasn't for Star Wars. So when I heard there was a sequel being made I was over the moon. Luckily my Dad was an avid fan (we saw Star Wars 14 times in the drive in theater) so we were there on opening day to see Empire. It's hard to put into words what I felt while watching this movie... it was pure ecstasy. I was transported to this wonderful world of good and evil, creatures and space battles and I loved every minute of it.

Nothing will every compare the same feeling as seeing Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, this was before computers, internet and mass media. Movie openings were EVENTS, Going into these movies you knew nothing (at least I didn't as I was still very young). These movies were the forefather of summer blockbusters and nothing will every take their places.

Happy Anniversary Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back.. thank you for allowing me to take a journey to a galaxy far, far away

Ironman II

It's been months since we've been to the movies so I was excited to finally be going. There are several movies on my list that I want to see before they leave the theater (Clash of the Titans, Kick Ass, How to Train your Dragon and Ironman II) So today we saw Ironman II. I was a huge fan on the first Ironman so my hopes were high for the sequel and it didn't disappoint. The story was good and the special effects were EXCELLENT!!! I love these kinds of movie as they require very little thought. You just sit back and enjoy the ride.

    Here's a synopsis of Ironman 2:

With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts, and James "Rhodey" Rhodes at his side, must forge new alliances - and confront powerful enemies.

Be sure to stick around after the credits for something special.

Vehicle Maintenance, Lunch and a Movie

Today we got up early because Harry had to take his truck into the Dodge dealer for it's 12,000 mile check up. He likes to take it to the dealer he bought it from which is in Canoga Park. We left the house around 9:45am as we both had to get gas before heading down. Harry drove his truck and I drove my jeep. We dropped off his truck at 11am and they said it would be a few hours before it was ready.

I needed to get one of my tires fixed as I had a flat tire last week and was using my spare which didn't look so hot either. I went to Just Tires in Reseda as I have used them in the past. I was told that my flat tire was not repairable as the puncture was on the side. So in the end I bought two new tires. They replaced my front two with the new tires. Took my front tires and put them on the back and took the one good back tire and I'm not using it as my spare... all in all what I thought would be a $30 fix turned into a $250 fix. Things never go as planned.

After that we decided to go to lunch. We headed toward Wienersnitizal but I then suggested Wood Ranch at the Northridge Mall as it's a place that we both love and have only been to a few times. We got there, parked and went in and noticed that the entire waiting staff were in the lobby area. We were informed that the resturant was closed due to something. They gave us some coupons and said they didn't know when they would be open again. We then decided to go to Claim Jumpers as it was near by and again it's a place that we both like but very rarely go to. I got a chicken lunch when Harry got a steak lunch. Harry really loved his lunch and my was very good but you know how it is when you're in the mood for something but don't get it. Well I was really in the mood for Wood Ranch chicken, baked beans and their incredible rolls so lunch was a big disappointing to me.

After the lunch we headed over the Lens crafters as I have been wanting to get new eye glasses as I get occasional headaches and I think it's because my prescription has changed. Anyways we get in there and find out that the next appointment is 2 1/2 hours away, so instead we head to the movie theater in the mall area. There wasn't really anything that both Harry and I wanted to see playing at the time. We headed to a larger movie theater in Winnetka and found a showing of Ironman II playing in less then 20 minutes of us arriving. So we saw Ironman II (which I'll review in my next blog). After the movie we headed back to the Dodge dealer and picked up Harry's truck, which we found out there are several recall issues he will need to deal with so we have to take it back in a few weeks.

All in all thought we spent a few hundred dollars today it was nice to just hang out and have lunch and a movie with the Hubby.. we both agreed that we are going to try and do this at least once a month.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Ten

Around 3:30 I got a call from Brian who informed me that they were almost done shooting and if I wanted to interview Sean (Director) I would need to get down there soon. So I took a quick shower, packed up my equipment headed to set. Got there around 4:30, they were still filming so I hung out with Kim and Greg for a bit until they were done. I then helped to wrap the location and finally got to sit down with Sean and talk about the past four days of shooting. We now have two days off and start our final days of Season Four shoot of The Guild.

Stuff Around the House

I got up around 9am and checked my email, I still hadn't gotten my call sheet for today so I wasn't sure if they were going to allow me on set today. Since they are in very close quarters they are having a skeleton crew Around 11am I got a call my producer Kim who explain what was happening today on set and said I could come by if I wanted to. I then got a text from Brian, who is doing the The Guild EPK and he said I should come in later in the day as not much is really happening. So instead I watched a bit of TV, caught up with some emails and yard work.

My Unexpected Day Off

Well I never made it to the set of The Guild today as planned.. luckily Brian got some good stuff for in my absence. Instead I caught up on some everyday "life" things (emails, housework, tv). I also worked on re-designing my Knights of the Guild podcast logo.. what do you think? (Click on the image to enlarge)

Still haven't gotten a call sheet for tomorrow so I'm still unsure if I'm going to set tomorrow or not. Guess will find out when I wake up tomorrow.

No Ordinary Family & The Cape

Two new Fantasy/Scifi/Geeky TV series coming this fall/midseason.

First one is on ABC this fall called No Ordinary Family, from the preview it reminds me of the Pixar movie The Incredibles.

The second one is on NBC and will be coming midseason and it's called The Cape. This one reminds me of a Batman kind of superhero. Don't have super powers but has cool techy toys and awesome fighting ablity.

Both shows look AWESOME but most of these shows don't make it pass a season. Let's hope these new shows can capture a large audience.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Nine

Well today I was asked not to go to set as it's a smaller set and space is limited. I was bummed as I enjoy being on set but understand as Brian the EPK guy is going to set today and I'll be going to set tomorrow while he takes the day off. Brian plans on interviewing a cast member and I really wanted to be there for that so Kim gave me the okay to join him when he does this. So until I get that call I am at home working on organizing all my audio bites from the past eight days of shooting. So much good stuff.. have to listen to them and place them in the appropriate episode folders. This will make it easier when I build the "companion" podcast for the new episodes of The Guild.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Eight

On location again today but this time with no extras and man is it quiet on set today. Only a few cast members, but the same large crew but the feeling is much more subdued. Just me today on set as Jenni had to work. I got a few good interviews and watched some fun scenes being shot. We had a really good lunch today (not that we normally don't) but today's was particular good. After the shoot we wrapped from that location and man it was exhausting. On to another location tomorrow.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Seven

Another day on location with a ton of extras. Working with the extras is always fun as all are fans of the show, most are not actors just people who want to be part of The Guild experience. The entire cast was on set today which is always fun when you can get the core six cast members together. Besides the fact that Jenni and I got several great interviews we were both extras in a fun scene along with Marshall (Jeff Lewis' wife). We had tons of fun between takes. Not sure how much you'll see of us, but it was still fun to take part as it's a tradition for me as I have been in episodes from Season 2 & 3 and now hopefully 4.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Six

Back on set of The Guild season 4. Joining me today for the podcast recording is my co-host Jenni, which makes it extra fun. It's a big day on set, can't say why or where we are but there are a bunch of extras and several cast members. We got a lot of interviews with Extras and some cool casts interview. The crew had a 5am call time but luckily as I am a podcaster I can make up my owe time to come in but since I didn't want to miss much I got in around 8am and we were here until 6pm. Tomorrow is going to be another fun day.. looking forward to it.

Lots of Guild Posts

Sorry about all these Guild posts but for the next few weeks The Guild will be taking over my life with them shooting Season 4 and me doing the official podcast. I'll try and sprinkle in some stuff happening in my life other then The Guild but like I said, it's a rather big part of my life at the moment.

"9" Action Figures

Got my "9" Action figure today.. a friend on twitter tweeted about getting his and I had no idea that they even made any figures from that movie. I wasn't able to find them in stores so I moved to ebay, I paid a bit more then I would have liked but they just arrived and they are AWESOME!!!

I also realized that I haven't bought a single action figure/toy since we moved.. it's going on a year. And if you know me, you know that's pretty amazing.

Need to build my new toy room so I can get everything displayed and start collecting again.

BTW.. if you don't know what "9" is.. you need to rent/buy/netflix it now!!!

Another example might be the classic heart tattoo with the letters mom written under it. You get the idea here lettering used to be an extra piece to add on. However, these days tattoo lettering and literary tattoos have taken the main stage and they are no longer part of the embellishment but they are part of the tattoo it self.

My Day Off

Today on my day off from The Guild I wanted to get so much done but of course I didn't. The past five days really drained me and I fought with getting up or trying to get some more sleep. I knew I had a ton of things to do but my body was telling to get more rest. I compromised and slept to about 9:30am and then got up.

Once up I wanted to catch up on some Knights of the Guild business; donations, contests and such. Once that was done I did a bit more internet surfing before getting up and doing the dishes. I did manage to get outside and pull some weeds for a few hours but both Harry and I were hot and exhausted after a few hours and that was it for our weed pulling day.

Harry and I watched some missed TV and towards the end of the night I finished editing Knights of the Guild episode 16 part 1. It's currently being converted as I head to bed.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Five

Once again we are shooting at the same place we shot yesterday in the Valley so my drive wasn't so bad. I ran a few errands before heading to set. It was a pretty quite day for me on set. Got one interview done but I did manage to watch a few of the scenes being shot and that's always fun. All in all not a very productive day for me. :(

Next up we get two days off and then we're back on Saturday. Still need to edit Knights of the Guild podcast #16 part 1 before it's released on the 15th. And I hope to organize some of this Season Four interview footage.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Four

Today we are shooting in the valley so it was a much quicker drive to get to set. Took some pixs and did a few interviews but didn't feel like a very productive day for season 4 stuff. Wasn't able to watch the actually shooting which kind of bummed me out.

There was a reveal today that was AWESOME, of course I can't say anything but it was the highlight for the day. But this was a close second.. the wonderful Kim Evey got the "Shaved Ice" truck to come to the location and everything got some delicious shaved ice.. I had the rockin' rainbow, which was cherry, blueberry and pineapple shaved ice over vanilla ice cream.. it was

Another fun thing that happened today was when Jenni joined me to record a new Microcast about the awesome april fools joke The Guild played called Lil' Guildies. We actually got all the creators, Kim Evey, Greg Aronowitz and Paul & Storm to join us. It was a fun interview and I hope to get it up later tonight after I edit it up a bit.

Another cool thing about today's location is that it's the same place where they filmed Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show and look who I found sitting next to me.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Three

Another day on the set of The Guild. Since it was Monday I wasn't sure how long it was going to take me to get to the Hollywood area so I planned to leave at 9am and get into LA around 10:30ish. Luckily I didn't hit much traffic and arrived when I had planned.

It was a very productive day, I got some good sound bites and real informative interviews. As I left for the evening around 8pm I got in my Jeep and started it up. Soon as I started my "gas" light came on and I looked at my gas gauge and it was empty. I knew immediately that someone has siphoned my gas. I knew I wasn't far from a gas station so I started to make my way there when, just at the bottom of the hill, my jeep completely died. I pushed the jeep to the side of the road and walked to remaining two blocks to get gas, once I had put the small amount in my jeep I drove back to the gas station and did a fill up.

This has happened to be before as my jeep has an open gas compartment and the gas cap has no lock. After that fun I drove home with no more issue.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day Two

Today my call time (when they expected me on set) was a little later in the day, so I decided to go over to my buddy Greg Aronowitz's house to see what cool things he is working on. I spent about two hours over at his place catching up and watching him create some very cool pieces, that I can't talk about. You know sometimes it sucks having very talented friends working on top secret projects that I can't talk about.

Anyways after my visit with Greg I headed over to The Guild set. Once again I can't say anything but I did get another very cool interview as well as interviews with some of the awesome crew.

Day two was just as much fun as day one.. can't wait for day three.

Guild Shoot Season 4 - Day One

Back on March 17th, 2010 I had a meeting/lunch with Kim Evey who is the co-producer of The Guild webseries. I have worked/volunteered on The Guild the past two seasons, seasons 2 and 3. My primary duties were filming behind the scenes footage and at a later date cutting the footage and creating some DVD extras. I also took still photos and helped out where ever I could.

I got bad and then good news.. Bad news: they have not asked me back to film the behind the scenes material for the DVD. Good news: They want to expand Knights of the Guild podcast to include live set interviews. Besides it's regular podcasts, Knights of the Guild will also release companion piece to the webseries. When they release new episodes we will release a coinciding podcast for that episode. So you watch the episode and then listen to the podcast for some behind the scenes action of that episode.

I'm sad that I won't be doing BTS anymore but excited to take Knights of the Guild to a whole new level.

First day was a lot of fun, of course I can't say much about it other then I got some good BTS interviews and I can't wait to get started on these special G4 (Guild Season 4) episodes.

Lunch

Today Harry and I went out to lunch with two of my buddies from work Will and Brian. He headed over to Chevy's as Harry needed soft food and we felt bean, rice and enchiladas were soft enough.

I had a great time as I miss seeing these guys everyday. We talked a little about work but mostly about a TV show we all love to watch and use to discuss the next day Lost.

I hope to have lunch with the guys once a week.

Harry's Dental Appointment

Today Harry had an appointment with the dentist to have 1 Molar pulled and Root Canal Work on 2 more Molars done. The appointment was at 10 am. So we left at 8.30 and got to Van Nuys around 9.30. We decided to get into the dental office early so we could start on the paperwork. Around 10 am they called him into the Operating Room. He laid down on the operating table and the nurse connected the monitor cables to his chest. After that Dr. Gottschalk, the anesthesiologist made sure that he didn't have anything to eat or drink from midnight on. Then he started the anesthesia IV. The last thing he remembered was the doctor telling him that the next thing he would remember would be waking up from the anesthesia. Harry says he never even saw his dentist.

I headed out and went shopping at Target and then picked up some lunch at El Pollo. I got to the dental office around Noon (the time they told me he would be done). When I walked in they said it would be another 45 minutes until they were done and then he would have to recover from the anesthesia, which could take an hour or so. I hung out in the waiting room, watching Deal or No Deal. The nurse came out and chatted with me about what Harry might go through and how to deal with the swelling.

They finally brought him out around 1:30 in a wheelchair, he looked groggy. He asked about this glasses which weren't on his face and the nurse had to run back and get them. They wheeled him out to the truck and I helped him get into his seat. We stopped by CVS to order the Meds he had been prescribed. His dentist prescribed Vicodin for the pain and Amoxicillin (an antibiotic) for the extraction.

We got home and I sat him down in his recliner, took off his shoes and got him as comfortable as I could. He was still very groggy and slept on and off as we watched TV. About 2 hours later the effects from the anesthesia wore off and he was in so much pain. I feel horrible seeing him in that much pain. I quickly got him a Vicodin from a previous dentist visit and a cold pack for his face. He took the pill and placed the pack on his face. The cold pack helped dual the pain slightly until the Vicodin could do it job. I had to head back to CVS to pick up his other meds but when I felt he looked like he was doing better and when I got home he was just fine.

The rest of the day was uneventful, taking his Vicodin every four hours that managed the pain, he was able to eat dinner that night and he very little swelling and not much bleeding. All in all with exception to the 20 minute of EXTREME pain this visit to the dentist wasn't so bad.. well if you don't call paying the $10,000 dentist bill painful.

Dental Woes

Today Harry had a dentist appointment, since one of his teeth had been hurting for the past 2 weeks. So we got up early and drove to his dentist in Van Nuys. Yeah.. that’s not exactly around the corner from where we live, but he really likes this dentist, and that's saying alot as he's not a big fan of any dentists.

After the exam here is what they want to do.

    • Extraction of 1 Molar
    • Root Canal Work on 2 Molars
    • Temporary cap 2 Molars
    • Deep Cleaning and Tartar Removal
    • Having 2 Crowns made

With the price of the anesthesia included with the dental work it will cost us about $ 10.000. That was not planned and it's even tougher because I am out of work but will manage and though we don't really want to pay that kind of money, don't have much of a choice.. Harry is in constant pain and that's not good and I would pay whatever the price was to take away that pain. Will be going tomorrow to do the actual work.

Happy Birthday Bro

Today is my brother Michael's birthday.. he's the big 35 which makes me feel sooooo old

Hope you had a great day!!!! Love you!!!

Dragon Tattoo Trend For Men

    Dragon Tattoo Trend For Men
If you're currently planning on getting a tattoo and you're wondering if you should get a famous tattoo theme such as the dragon, then you should first ask what do dragon tattoos for men really signify. A quick look at the this mystical creature can tell us what it really symbolizes.

Dragons were perceived in the ancient times as a creature of power, strength and fear. They were highly valued for their war-like qualities and they were often portrayed as protectors of treasures and wealth. Kings and knights in armor had to slay a dragon first before they can get the most coveted treasure. This can be a metaphor for a period in a life of a person where in he has conquered a certain dragon in his life, maybe a big hurdle such as a life threatening disease or something life-altering.

Although there was a period in history where they terrorized people and were used as a symbol of demonic relevance, we cannot remove the belief that dragons were seen as valiant, brave and courageous. They are great creatures that can invoke either fear or braveness from a person, the only one who can tell which quality is being drawn out from himself is the person in question.

During the medieval period where people slayed dragons, it was a representation of a spiritual victory and it was then that a dragon was used a symbol of faith and selfless courage.

The dragon is also perceived as a free and fearless creature so dragon tattoos for men basically represents having a free, bold and daring personality.

But out of all the many meanings and symbolism of dragon tattoos for men, the best and most popular representation that people have adopted is the dragon's symbol of strength and power. A dragon tattooed on your upper back or shoulder or arm can signify power and protection. Perhaps the tattoo bearers sees the dragon as a powerful protector and thus he is invoking some power from the creature.

Trend Tattoo Galleries Online

    Trend Tattoo Galleries Online
There are actual galleries on the internet which you can join and find high quality work which you can download, print out, take to the parlor and get inked.

This is the new way to find tattoos. It's fast, convenient and the work is excellent, high quality designs. And it's a ton of FUN! If you are into looking at cool tattoo work, online galleries are the place to go.

It's easy too. The good galleries will have everything listed in categories. So if you are looking for strictly tribal designs, you don't have to scour through butterfly designs to get to the killer tribal work. All online tattoo galleries are not the same! There are low quality, free sites which likely won't be worth your while unless you want the most basic of designs. For quality work and the latest designs you'll have to join up a respected tattoo site which offers the best out there and continually updates the work so you don't miss out on anything new coming out.

Famous Trend Tattoos Design

    Famous Trend Tattoos Design
Tattoos at one point in time were used to identify slaves or status in a community. Some tribal art was meant strictly for a chief or other important member of a tribe such as a medicine man or priest. These days famous tattoos take on a whole new meaning

Spine 3D Tattoo Trend

    Spine 3D Tattoo Trend
If you are a true-blue tattoo aficionado, then you surely know how to choose the best-looking tattoos with just a single look from the art gallery of tattoo designs your tattoo artist will hand you. What is more, you will certainly be on the look out for some of the most beautiful spine tattoos in the internet before gong to your local tattoo parlor. If you are one of those avid tattoo fans out there, here are some of the things that you might want to know about getting spine tattoos.

First of all, know that any tattoo that is seen running down any person's spine is actually a work of art. Not only is it beautiful, but artists also find it very useful. They say that there can be nothing more perfect than a person's back as the canvass. You can ask your tattoo artist to draw any design you want in your back that will really catch the attention of everyone who will see it.

Know that tattooists are actually very willing and more than obliging when somebody comes to them asking for a spine tattoo. They feel like it is a great bonus, getting to paint and draw on a beautiful human canvass while at the same time getting paid for what they love doing.

If you are the type of person who would like everyone's attention on you, then you might consider having a really long snake tattoo on your back. Highlight the snake with very bright and striking colors to emphasize your spine tattoos. Or better yet, let the snake tattoo groove following the pattern of your spine. That would be a very fascinating snake tattoo to see.

If you are a woman and you want to feel sexy, getting a spine tattoo might just do the trick for you. Choose a tattoo design that can emphasize your femininity as well as felinity. In fact, you may try asking your local tattoo artist to put a touch of femininity in your spine by drawing some flowers on it or by simply drawing poison green ivy gracefully, as well as elegantly going up your spine.

Avoid being monotonous by using only one shade or hue of colors. As much as possible, your spine tattoo design should look lively with bright and playful colors. Using repetitive colors become monotonous and dull for your spine. It will just be a waste of time to draw on your back boring tattoo designs

Lastly you may also try combinations of designs such as that of a tribal design with an ancestral tattoo design which will surely be beautiful to look at, what with the complexity and meaning of the designs.

Trend Tattoo Designs for Girls

    Trend Tattoo Designs for Girls
Girls are always asking me what tattoos they should get or what I think are the hottest tattoos for girls. Unfortunately there is no clear cut answer simply because there are as many different types of tattoos are there are girls. What one person might find sexy another might consider unattractive or very unfeminine.

Certain styles of tattoos might not suit the image you want to project. For example certain work environments may not accept highly visible tattoos even though tattoos are becoming more and more accepted. It may be wise to hold off getting that sacred heart tattoo emblazoned across your chest if your boss is going to flip out if (s)he sees it!

So in saying that what I hope to do in this short article is offer my insight and experience within the tattoo industry for the past 9 or 10 years and point out the current tattoo trends and what the most popular styles of tattoos are for girls. At the end of the day you want a tattoo that has lasting appeal and not a tattoo that was done on a whim. If I give you some good ideas for your next tattoo all the better...

Trends come and go. What was cool ten years ago is no longer cool. In the nineties certain types of tattoos such as cartoon characters like Betty Boop, barbed wire armbands and dolphins were in. Looking at them now they appear very cheesy and basic.

Tattoo art has come such a long way in the past few years even. Certain styles of tattoos have become perennial and have risen to a point where they are getting the respect and acknowledged they deserve for their intricacy and artistry.

Styles as diverse as Japanese tattoos, Indian/Hindu tattoos, Anime, Traditional American and Floral designs are raising the bar higher and higher and becoming increasingly popular.

Alongside that is the fact that people are beginning to see their skin as a human canvas and not just settling for random tattoos placed haphazardly on a part of the body that is hidden. Nowadays more and more girls are getting larger tattoos and more of them.

This may explain the popularity of Japanese tattoos. In traditional Japanese tattoos each character has a meaning and interacts with the other tattoo designs as part of the whole.

The same is true for Traditional American tattoos. Previously what were once done as individual tattoos from disparate elements of American culture are now being woven into an organic and is more like a story unfolding.

KOTG Microcast #17 Quest for S4 Read Through

Family Visit

Today my Mom and Chuck came to visit us at our new house, since both of them couldn't make it to the house warming party. The house still looked pretty good, so there wasn’t that much work to do. I started cleaning the house and once Harry got up he did all the carpets and rugs and the house was ready to go. Around 1 pm they made it all the way out to the winery in Agua Dulce, I told them to park on the main road and I would drive out and pick them up. We really didn't want them to drive their RV on our dirt roads. We showed our house and land to them and both really seemed to like it. They also liked the paint colors and view. Getting compliments always makes the months of remodeling and painting worth it. We then hung out with them for a couple of hours before they left on their road trip up north. The most surprising thing was how Daisy was behaving… She was actually socializing with Josie (My Moms Maltese). Who would have thought that… as Daisy doesn’t get along with most dogs. Apparently the older Daisy gets, the more social she becomes. All in all it was a fun day and it was great seeing Mom and Chuck.

Happy Star Wars Day

I want to wish all my fellow Geeks, Nerds and Dorks a Very Happy Star Wars Day..

The Guild Read Through

Today I was fortunate enough to be invited over the Felicia's house for Season 4 of The Guild read through. It was great seeing the cast along with Kim (producer) and Sean (Director). Of course I can't say anything in this blog about it. I did record a short microcast about it that I'll be putting up tomorrow. Again didn't say much but did manage to talk to some of the cast members and crew about returning to Season 4. I did record the entire read through and I hope once the season is done they will allow me to release the audio from that.. funny stuff. Can't wait to get back on set of The Guild (starts shooting Saturday).

Recording Ep. 16

Today Jenni came over around 3 and we recorded our next episode of Knights of the Guild Podcast Episode 16 pt. 1 & 2. We didn't video tape this recording as we have done with the past five or so podcasts. We wanted to keep some of this info a secret until it airs on May 15th. It's so strange as we recorded 40 or so podcast without an audience but you kind of get use to it not having them this time around kind of felt like something was missing. But then again I felt this podcast flew by as we weren't interacting with the folks online and just getting the podcast done.

We did have one scare as we were half way through recording part 1 and Audacity (the program I use to record the podcasts) suddenly went funky and became unresponsive. I did everything I could to try and save our work that we had done the past hour. Suddenly everything crashed. Figured we were screwed so I started everything back up and when I started Audacity a window popped up and said "do you want to recovery previous work".. relief washed over me as I clicked YES.. we manage to save the majority of it and lost the last ten minutes of our recording.

Now all I have to do is edit them, add the SFX, level them, convert them and then upload them.

Weeds, Snakes and Satellite.. Oh My!!

Today Harry and I were working on miscellaneous things around the house. First up was Hughes Net.

Some of you guys might remember that we got our ‘High Speed Internet’ through satellite via Hughes Net. Well to make a long story short it works sorta. It might be high speed internet, but the connection quality leaves something to be desired. On top of that you can’t use it for Skype calls at all and you were limited on what you could upload and download a day. Paying about 120 bucks a month for that just didn’t seem to be worth it. And our local ‘Canyon Wave’ which is free to us, since the tower sits on our land, has a way better connection quality. True it’s not high speed internet, the speed is just a little below DSL… Well you can’t watch streaming video… you have to wait until it has loaded about 1/2 of the content… but we’ve gotten used to that.

In the last few month the expense for Hughes Net didn’t seem to be justified anymore. So we decided to cancel our 2-year contract with Hughes Net prematurely. In order to do that we had to pay them a penalty of 400 bucks. You can recover about 200 bucks if you send modem, power supply and radio transmitter of the dish back. So today we removed the radio transmitter. So I climbed up onto the roof and started removing the radio transmitter according to the instructions that Harry read out loud from below. Actually the instructions sound way more difficult than they are. It turned out to be pretty much a piece of cake.

Next up was weed removal. Considering the amount of weeds and the amount of land we own… pulling it by hand is just not feasible. Of course you could just use a weed whacker to keep the weeds somewhat in check. So we looked into different solutions. The thing with chemical weed removers is that they are not only harmful to your pets, but the are also getting introduced into the ground water table. And especially if you get your drinking water from your own well, that’s just not a smart idea. So we finally found some complete organic remedies to remove weeds. Most of them are based on vinegar. So we mixed it up and sprayed a ‘test lot’ with that remedy. Now we’re waiting and see what’s going to happen. I will keep you guys posted on that progress.

Later that day Harry came running in and say I had to go outside and see something, he took me over to the side of our house pointed out a 4 foot snake. We knew we had snakes on our property but never seen one. The only reason we saw this one was because Daisy got way to overexcited when she came across it on her walk. We're not quite sure what kind of snake it was, but we're absolutely positive that it wasn’t a rattlesnake. Guess that just goes along with living in a rural area.
